Building Data Lakes on AWS

This 1-day course is a starter into data analytics courses on AWS, as well as an introduction to AWS Lake Formation.

In the Building Data Lakes on AWS course, you will learn how to create an operational data lake that can analyze both structured and unstructured data. The course covers the essential components and functions of the services needed to build a data lake. You will use AWS Lake Formation to set up the data lake, AWS Glue to create a data catalog, and Amazon Athena to analyze the data.

During this 1-day course, you will engage in presentations, hands-on labs, and group exercises. By the end, you will be able to apply data lake methodologies for planning and designing a data lake, explain the necessary components and services for building an AWS data lake, secure the data lake with the right permissions, ingest, store, and transform data and query, analyze, and visualize data within the lake.

This course is aimed at data platform engineers, solutions architects, and IT professionals. To get the most out of the course, it is recommended that participants have completed the AWS Technical Essentials classroom course and have at least one year of experience in building data analytics pipelines or have taken the Data Analytics Fundamentals digital course.
