Exam Prep: AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate (DEA-C01)

This 1-day course helps you prepare for the AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate (DEA-C01) exam.

In this instructor-led, 8-hour course you will learn what matters most for the exam, how to approach different question types, and how to spot the common misconceptions that appear on the test. The instructor guides you through exam-focused reviews of each domain, highlighting frequently tested concepts, clarifying easily confused topics, and showing strategic approaches to analyzing questions.

The course includes presentations, discussions, and guided practice with exam-style questions and scenario-based discussions. After an introduction to the exam format, question types, scoring, test-taking strategies, and preparation resources, you work through the exam domains: data ingestion and transformation, data store management, data operations and support, and data security and governance. Each module has slides aligned to the domain’s task statements, followed by a walkthrough of relevant questions and additional practice. These cover topics such as data ingestion, pipeline orchestration, choosing data stores, cataloging, data lifecycle, data quality, authentication and authorization, encryption and masking, and audit logging. The day ends with a review of the domains, final test-taking strategies, and next steps. You will be able to identify the scope of the exam, apply effective test-taking strategies, and build confidence while identifying gaps in your knowledge.

This course is intended for data professionals who are preparing for the DEA-C01 exam. It is recommended that participants have 2-3 years of experience in data engineering, 1-2 years of hands-on experience with AWS services, and basic familiarity with AWS data services.
