CompTIA AI Fundamentals
The CompTIA AI Fundamentals course is designed for students and other non-technical learners who want practical AI literacy that applies in any field, whether business, health, education or the social sciences. It is a hands-on, credit-bearing course aimed mainly at academic use and broader foundational learning, so no technical background is needed to get started.
Participants learn how modern AI works and where it is used, how to pick suitable use cases and recognize limitations, and how to spot and manage AI risks. The course teaches responsible and ethical AI practice, prompt design and refinement, and how to evaluate AI output, and applies these to writing, communication, research and analysis. It finishes with a practical introduction to AI-enabled automation and agents, including turning work into agent workflows, controlling agent behavior, managing memory and knowledge, and applying human oversight. Everything is practised in contained AI labs that need no third-party tools.
The course is not a certification, but learners who successfully complete the built-in competency assessment earn a CompTIA CompCert, a certificate of competency that shows verified AI skills you can share on a resume, on LinkedIn or with employers.
