CompTIA Security Pro
The CompTIA Security Pro course is designed for people who want to build solid, practical cybersecurity skills in a hands-on, browser-based environment. It suits learners who already have a foundational knowledge of networking and basic cybersecurity concepts. The course guides you step by step, but some prior experience or a grasp of technology fundamentals will help you get the most out of it.
Participants learn to protect networks by finding vulnerabilities and applying secure configurations, to recognize and counter threats such as malware and phishing, and to manage user authentication and permissions safely. You also work with cryptographic tools to protect sensitive information and learn to plan for responding to and recovering from security incidents. Instead of reading about theory alone, you practise in labs that simulate real tools and scenarios, such as configuring a DMZ, hardening wireless networks and working with Kali Linux, Wireshark and a pfSense firewall, without needing any equipment of your own.
The course includes the Security Pro competency assessment, a set of performance-based tasks completed in a simulated environment. It also prepares you for the CompTIA Security+ (V7) certification and for roles such as cybersecurity specialist, security analyst, network security administrator, systems administrator or technology support specialist.
