Getting Started with FinOps on Google Cloud
This 1-day Tech Adjacent course is a lecture-based, interactive introduction to FinOps on Google Cloud, aimed at decision makers.
The course gives an actionable set of steps to help your organization implement a cloud financial management strategy and get the most out of its Google Cloud investment. You will walk through the five pillars of the Google Cloud FinOps operating model, covering financial governance challenges, accountability and enablement, measurement and realization, cost optimization, and planning and forecasting. The course closes with the tools and accelerators available, such as budgets and alerts, tagging automation and Cloud Cost Reporting.
Participants learn to set up FinOps policies and roles, define success metrics, optimize the cost of resources they use and modernize budgeting and forecasting. The course includes six classroom activities and discussions.
This course is aimed at Google Cloud customers. It is recommended that attendees have basic knowledge of cloud computing and Google Cloud technologies, as covered in the Cloud Digital Leader course.
