This 4-hour Cloud Hero course is a gamified, hands-on challenge in building and running containerized applications on Kubernetes.
You will practice building, running and debugging Docker containers and deploying containerized applications to Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE). The game takes you through provisioning clusters, managing deployments with kubectl, orchestrating microservices with Deployments and Services, scaling deployments, and exploring advanced strategies such as Blue-Green and Canary deployments.
The game is made up of four hands-on modules: an introduction to Docker, a GKE quick start, orchestrating the cloud with Kubernetes, and managing deployments using Kubernetes Engine.
The course is aimed at people with general familiarity with Kubernetes who want more in-depth training on deploying and scaling Kubernetes deployments. Little to no prior experience with Docker and containers is assumed, and familiarity with Cloud Shell and the command line is suggested but not required.
