Google Kubernetes Engine for Developers - Essentials

This 2-3 hour Cloud Sparks session is a short, interactive introduction to Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) for developers.

The course covers the essentials of containers and Kubernetes, including containers versus virtualization, Docker images and Dockerfiles, Kubernetes cluster components, and object management. It then looks at Kubernetes deployments and best practices on GKE, such as rolling updates and rollbacks, health checks and probes, and security.

Hands-on activities and demos include building a Docker image with Python and one with Java using Maven.

The course is aimed at cloud developers who want to deploy and manage containerized applications on Google Cloud. It is recommended that attendees know basic cloud computing concepts and have software development experience.
