Architecting with Google Kubernetes Engine

In this 2-day course we’re taking a look at how to deploy and manage containerized applications on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).

The course combines lectures, demos and hands-on labs to explore the building blocks of GKE solutions, including pods, containers, deployments and services, as well as networking and application services. Participants learn to create and manage workloads, understand pod networking, work with Kubernetes storage abstractions, and secure clusters with RBAC, Cloud IAM, Workload Identity and Pod Security Admission. They also look at monitoring and logging with Google Cloud Observability, managed storage options such as Cloud Storage and Cloud SQL, and CI/CD pipelines for GKE.

In the six labs you will, among other things, create GKE deployments, configure networking and persistent storage, secure a cluster, set up native monitoring and logging, and use Cloud SQL from GKE with Workload Identity.

The course is aimed at cloud architects, administrators and SysOps/DevOps personnel who use Google Cloud to create new solutions or integrate existing systems and environments. It is recommended that attendees have completed Getting Started with Google Kubernetes Engine or have equivalent experience.
