Application Development with Cloud Run

In this 2-day course we’re taking a look at modern application development with Cloud Run on Google Cloud.

Application Development with Cloud Run brings together three topics in one class: creating containers, developing applications with Cloud Run, and Cloud Run functions. You start with containers and container images, building and packaging applications with Docker and Google Cloud’s buildpacks, and the best practices for creating, testing and securing them. From there you move on to the basics of Cloud Run and Google Kubernetes Engine, the Cloud Run resource model, container lifecycle and autoscaling.

Through lectures, classroom activities and hands-on labs you will develop and test applications locally before deploying them to Cloud Run, use service identity and IAM, integrate your applications with other Google Cloud services, and develop, test and deploy Cloud Run functions.

The course is for partners and customers who want to build and run containerized applications on Google Cloud. Participants should be comfortable with Linux commands and the command line, know the Google Cloud console, the gcloud CLI and networking, and have a basic grasp of a language such as Node.js or Python, plus shell scripts, HTTP and tools like cURL. Some knowledge of services such as Cloud Storage and Pub/Sub helps, and completing Google Cloud Fundamentals: Core Infrastructure is recommended.
