Managing a Data Mesh with Knowledge Catalog
In this 2-day course we’re taking a look at how to build and manage a data mesh with Knowledge Catalog on Google Cloud.
Knowledge Catalog is an intelligent data fabric that lets organizations centrally discover, manage, monitor and govern their data across data lakes, data warehouses and data marts. You can use it to build a data mesh architecture that decentralises data ownership among domain data owners. In the Managing a Data Mesh with Knowledge Catalog course you learn this through guided lectures and independent exercises using sample data.
Over seven modules and six labs you will create a data mesh, secure data lakes, zones and assets, tag resources and use tags to search for assets, and process data with Knowledge Catalog tasks. You will also explore data lineage, and design, execute and report on data quality and profiling processes, ending with a challenge lab.
The course is aimed at customers working with data on Google Cloud. You should have completed Modernizing Data Lakes and Data Warehouses with Google Cloud and Building Batch Data Pipelines on Google Cloud, or have equivalent experience. The interaction with Dataproc Metastore and a deep dive into BigLake concepts are not covered.
